Review Nursing Schools Almanac‘s rankings of all schools of nursing in Tennessee here.
A national website has ranked the School of Nursing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 4th among Tennessee’s 29 public and private institutions.
Nursing Schools Almanac says its 2021 rankings of pre-licensure bachelor’s degree programs are based on its “extensive database of student performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses,” or the NCLEX-RN exam, for first-time test takers over several years.
“We have consistently achieved high rankings from entities that rate programs across the country, and we are honored to receive this accolade from Nursing Schools Almanac again,” said UTC School of Nursing Director Chris Smith. “We agree that data from the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on pass rates is a good benchmark for comparing the relative quality of bachelor’s degree programs.
“As for what makes our program one of Tennessee’s very best, we believe that our excellence is directly correlated to the commitment of our faculty and students. Faculty desire to prepare the best practice-ready nurses is reflected in our pass rates. The students, on the other hand, are fully invested in their preparation to care for patients across the lifespan, no matter what challenges the patients may face in their journey to optimal health.”
According to Nursing Schools Almanac—which ranks nursing schools across the U.S. in a variety of categories—their rankings also are based on “the standard program assessment metric reported by the Tennessee Board of Nursing and the test’s administrator, Pearson Vue.”
