Stacie Grisham has agreed to serve as interim vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced today.
The announcement was made by UTC Chancellor Steven R. Angle.
“Stacie came to UTC in 2009 as one of the original academic advisors in what is now the Center for Academic Support and Advisement, rising to director. Since taking on her current position as assistant vice chancellor for student success in 2018, she and Dr. Yancy Freeman have collaborated closely on numerous initiatives addressing recruitment, retention, and graduation issues,” Angle said.
“Enrollment Management and Student Affairs is a high-performing division staffed by experienced professionals that do their best every day to provide an outstanding educational environment for our students. I am confident that Stacie will maintain the positive momentum and student focus of the division as she takes on this interim role.
“Stacie received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from UT Knoxville and a master’s in academic advising from Kansas State University. With her background, 14 years of experience at UTC and outstanding leadership skills, she is the right person for this interim role.
“Early in August we will launch a national search for a permanent vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs. Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Jerold Hale will chair the search committee. I look forward to a transparent, inclusive, and successful search for the new vice chancellor. We hope to have an appointment finalized before the end of the year.
“Please join me in thanking Stacie for accepting this critical role as we prepare to welcome what will likely be our largest freshman class ever.”
