The following announcement to campus was made by Interim Chancellor Robert Dooley
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has enlisted Huron Consulting Group as its partner to engage in the development of a Strategic Enrollment Plan (SEP). It is an opportune time for the institution to develop a comprehensive SEP. The higher education environment has never been more complex, and the need to create a plan that will guide our actions, resource allocations and focus over the next three to five years is of utmost importance. This plan will include an actionable set of initiatives and actions to ensure we are able to meet enrollment aspirations for UTC and for the UT System.
Throughout this process, Huron will leverage its growing base of knowledge about UTC, which has been gathered through previous enrollment-related work with the UT System. Further, they will facilitate the development of the SEP through close partnership with not only our Enrollment Management team but also the provost, deans and other academic leaders to align enrollment goals with the current academic portfolio—a foundational component for continued excellence.
We have begun the early-stage work of convening an Enrollment Planning Steering Committee to engage in the SEP process. We will be engaging more members of our campus community through a combination of surveys, one-on-one interviews and focus groups. We anticipate completing the SEP by September 2025 in advance of the October UT System Board meeting, where highlights of the plan will be shared.
We are excited to begin this engagement with the Huron team. We are confident that the outcomes will allow us to continue to strengthen our enrollment and student success focus—and to ensure we continue to serve our Tennessee community both now and in the future.
I hope your semester is finishing strong. Thank you for all you do for UTC.
