The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Center for Professional Education is launching a new course this fall to help working professionals learn how to use artificial intelligence effectively, responsibly and with confidence.
“AI Essentials for Business Applications” is a six-part, 24-hour virtual course running from Oct. 7 to Nov. 11. The instructor-led sessions will take place on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m. Eastern.
Designed for professionals looking to boost productivity, the course covers real-world uses of AI tools for tasks such as creating documents, managing spreadsheets, designing graphics and writing emails. In addition to improving efficiency, participants will learn how to apply AI in ways that incorporate checks, balances and ethical considerations.
“AI is quickly becoming a standard tool in the workplace,” course instructor Tripp Stanford said. “This course provides a safe, guided space to learn how to use it effectively and responsibly.”
Center for Professional Education Director John Freeze said understanding how to work with emerging technologies is increasingly valuable.
“As emerging technologies like AI continue to transform the workplace, professionals who understand how to use them wisely will have a competitive edge,” Freeze said. “Our goal is to give participants the skills and confidence to make AI a practical, trustworthy ally in their day-to-day work.”
Registration is now open, and the deadline is Sept. 29. For more information or to sign up, visit go.utc.edu/ai-essentials.
