Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Executive Director of the UC Foundation Kim White
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced today that Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Executive Director of the UC Foundation Kim White will retire on Sept. 19, 2025, following a distinguished tenure marked by record-setting fundraising achievements and transformative alumni engagement.
White originally planned to transition into a new role within the UC Foundation in fall 2024. However, she extended her leadership for another year to ensure a smooth transition following former UTC Chancellor Steve Angle’s return to a faculty role.
Under White’s leadership, UTC Advancement achieved historic fundraising success, including record-breaking philanthropic giving and alumni engagement. She has been instrumental in strengthening donor relationships, elevating the role of the UC Foundation in supporting UTC’s mission and securing resources that enhance student success, faculty excellence and campus growth.
“Kim’s vision and dedication have been transformational for UTC,” said UTC Chancellor Lori Mann Bruce. “Her leadership in Advancement has elevated fundraising and alumni engagement to unprecedented levels, directly fueling opportunities for our students, faculty and programs. Kim’s passion for this University and Chattanooga will leave an enduring legacy. We are deeply grateful for her service.”
A Chattanooga native and longtime community leader, White brought a wealth of experience to UTC when she joined as Vice Chancellor for Advancement in 2021. She has consistently sought to build connections and inspire generosity for campus, ensuring that UTC remains a vibrant, innovative, student-focused institution.
A farewell reception for White will be held on Friday, Sept. 19. The campus and community is invited to the event that takes place from 3-5 p.m. in the lobby of Founders Hall.
