In partnership with the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, the University hosted a conference featuring representatives from four NASA Centers (Kennedy Space, Marshall Space, Flight Shared Services, and Stennis Space), NASA prime contractors, and area firms.
The main goal of this conference was to bring together small, local firms, particularly minority, women, veteran services, and disabled veteran businesses face-to-face with larger firms like NASA to foster relationships and potential business opportunities.
“We’ve got to be an economic driver and a sustainable driver for the region. So, partnering with the Chamber, bringing in these national firms, connecting them with small businesses, only adds value. And you’re going to see a great return on investment that the University engineers here,” said Dr. Richard Brown, Executive Vice Chancellor, Finance and Operations.
Are there plans to do these kinds of events in the future? I think it’s important to really demonstrate the kinds of opportunities available out there.
