National Book Award winner Nikky Finney is coming to town.
Finney, who won the 2011 National Book Award for Poetry for Head Off & Split, will read from her works, answer questions and have a book signing.
The free event takes place on Saturday, May 27, in the offices of Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects, 1216 E Main St., Suite 120.
A native of South Carolina, Finney has written four books of poetry, one of short stories and edited The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South.
A reception begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and the program starts at 7:30 p.m. Complimentary light refreshments and wine will be served.
