Several groups from UTC participated in 2018’s Clean and Green event on Saturday, April 21.
The UTC Mocs football team and Chi Omega sorority focused on litter pickup but also did some landscaping along M.L. King Boulevard and areas surrounding UTC’s campus.
Students for Arts and Interdisciplinary Learners (SAIL) worked on a mural project with local artist Rondell Crier on the side of Chatt Smoke House at 416 E. M.L. King Blvd.
Between 8 a.m. and noon, 800 volunteers collected 800 bags of trash during Clean and Green. The day’s special projects included one playground cleanup, four landscaping projects, four public art projects, two public parks projects, two murals and two garden projects.
Among the locations were Little Miss Mag Early Learning Center, Battle Academy, Hart Gallery, Hunter Museum of American Art, the Chattanooga Public Library, Siskin Children’s Institute, Creative Discovery Museum and Glass House Collective.
