Jeff McCord, who earned a doctorate of education from UTC in 2017, has been selected by incoming Gov. Bill Lee to head the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
McCord is a graduate of the UTC Learning and Leadership Doctoral Program.
“We are very proud of Jeff and know he will make meaningful contributions to the state of Tennessee,” said David W. Rausch, program director for the Learning and Leadership Doctoral Program in the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies.
McCord currently serves as the vice president for economic and workforce development at Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tenn.
