The Bursar’s Office at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has received the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence’s 2019 Commitment Award.
The award recognizes high-performing organizations that demonstrate continuous improvement and role-model processes.
“The Bursar’s Office is committed to continuous improvement to achieve our mission: Provide exemplary student support services,” said UTC Bursar Nancy Neal. “The UTC Bursar’s Office is striving for excellence in our processes.”
Tamera Fields Parsons, president and CEO of the TNCPE, congratulated the UTC office for winning the award. She noted that use of the Baldrige Excellence Framework is a key criteria for being chosen. Through an annual evaluation and assessment process, the program helps TNCPE members improve their operations and become more competitive, as well as establishing evaluation guidelines.
“We commend you for participating in the 2019 Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Award Program,” Parsons said. “Your application and use of the Baldrige Excellence Framework demonstrate your commitment to performance excellence.”
Striving for excellence in the Bursar’s Office has an effect across campus, Neal said.
“The UTC Bursar’s Office’s commitment to improvement will reach deep into our university community and help to build a foundation for success, not only for the Bursar’s Office but the University as a whole,” she said.
The award will be presented at the TNCPE Excellence Awards Celebration on Feb. 27 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tenn.
