The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees approved a 9 percent fee increase for students attending The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga effective in the 2010 fall semester.
“In these difficult economic times, I empathize with students and their families who make sacrifices for a long-term investment in higher education,” said Chancellor Roger Brown. “These added revenues will allow UTC to continue to deliver a quality education to its students.”
For an undergraduate, in-state student attending full time, the increase will mean an additional $203 per semester. See the entire new fee schedule here.
Brown explained that the dollars raised from the fee increase are needed for operation and instructional expenses, saying UTC is experiencing rising energy and operating costs.
“I pledge that we will continue to take cost-saving measures and look for efficiencies wherever possible,” Brown said.
