SockWell, the company that makes socks specifically designed to treat people with medical issues in the feet and and lower legs, will donate $1 from every specially-made sock sold to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Nursing.
As part of SockWell’s “Honor Our Heroes” campaign, the money will support the careers of aspiring nurses. A check for $1,650 recently was presented to the School of Nursing.
“It’s amazing to me. To be honest, I actually own three pairs of the socks before they made the donation, and I love the socks anyway and to get to see them give back to us and just keep locally, it’s very amazing and heartfelt,” said Angel Collier, associate director of UTC’s School of Nursing.
The donation will be used to buy additional personal protective equipment for students, she says.
