In another consecutive year of record enrollment, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga admitted a smaller freshman class with the highest GPA and ACT scores on record.
With total enrollment of 10,781 for fall semester 2010 at UTC, up 2.4 percent from 2009, the new freshman class holds 1,948 students, down from 2009 when 2,209 new freshmen were enrolled. The 2010 class of new students posted a mean GPA of 3.31 and a mean ACT of 22.8.
“I am glad to see that as enrollment grows, our incoming freshmen are better prepared for their higher education career,” said Chancellor Roger Brown.
The top ten freshmen feeder high schools for 2010 are located in Hamilton, Williamson, Knox, Davidson and Sumner counties.
In overall enrollment, more women than men are attending UTC– 5,991 women and 4,790 men. Headcount for undergraduates stands at 9,229 and graduates number 1,552.
There are 195 students participating in the Regional Tuition Rate program, available for students with more than 60 hours of credit in the Georgia counties of Catoosa, Dade, Fannin, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield, and Jackson County, Alabama.
