Each fall, the UTC Interior Design department offers a study tour – a domestic trip to an enriching location. This year’s trip will be a tour of plantation architecture in Natchez, Mississippi, the Louisiana River Road and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Participants will depart Thursday, November 4, on round-trip coach and return Monday, November 8.
Reserve a spot with a $175 deposit by Friday, October 8, 2010.
This trip is open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
The program includes:
- Hotel with breakfast
- Natchez Carriage Tour
- Tours of several historic plantations including: Stanton Hall, Rosalie, Longwood, Nottaway, Laura, San Francisco
- New Orleans French Quarter and Garden District Walking Tour
- Cemetery Tour
This reasonably affordable trip provides hands-on exposure to innovative and historical examples of interior design and architecture. During the semester, students study the history and design aspects of the destination in a for-credit course that other participants are welcome to attend.
