The new dock sits on the Tennessee River.
For the first time, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students can rent sit-on-top kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and canoes right next to the water.
Opening May 3, a newly finished dock now sits on the Tennessee River next to Scrappy Moore Field. It replaces an aging dock that previously was available only to the UTC rowing team.
“People can just come down and say, ‘Hey, I want to take a paddleboard out for an hour’ and launch right here, go paddling and bring it back,” said Lisa Hancock, coordinator for outdoors for UTC Campus Recreation.
To rent equipment, you must be a Campus Recreation member.
