The Chattanooga Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) recently presented a check for $10,667 to Chancellor Roger Brown in support of the Jean Bradford Memorial Scholarship at UTC.
Established in 1996 by the Chattanooga Chapter of Executive Women International in memory of former member Jean (Mrs. James) Bradford, the Jean Bradford Memorial Scholarship assists women, particularly displaced homemakers and single mothers, returning to school in order to enhance their career opportunities.
“I was so excited to see how much money we were able to raise for the Jean Bradford Memorial Scholarship this year,” said Tanya English, President of the Chattanooga Chapter of EWI. “It is so rewarding to know that our organization is able to help deserving women further their education. These women are usually the first in their families to pursue a college degree and it is well known that the children of college graduates are more likely to attend college themselves.
Therefore, with this scholarship we are assisting in helping generations to come and that is a wonderful feeling!”
