A joint request by UTC and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce called upon members of the Ed.D. in Learning and Leadership program to develop strategic partnerships between the University and community. This week’s Ed.D. Learning Conference 2008 “Partnerships for a Learning Region” allowed participants to examine issues and begin to form a set of recommendations regarding strategic planning initiatives that will encourage strategic partnerships between UTC and the Chattanooga community.
All Ed.D. faculty and students as well as community leaders attended the event.
With the ultimate objective to realize a “learning region,” participants discussed ways new partnerships could be initiated and structured. They identified groups, institutions and organizations which may have an interest in partnering and how they could be constructively engaged.
The group heard ideas from guest speakers Kord A. Kutchins, Manager, Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company and Bryan L. Gorman, Senior Research Associate, Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
