Four UTC graduate students received awards for outstanding papers, presentations and posters in the recent Eighth Annual Graduate Research Day. Students in the 22 master’s and doctoral degree programs were eligible to submit their project, thesis, and dissertation research for peer and external review.
Vincent Betro (Computational Engineering) and George Standifer (English) both received awards for “Best Paper.” Betro submitted “Parallel Hierarchical 2D Unstructured Mesh Generation with General Cutting” and Standifer’s paper was “Nietzschean Architectonics in Jack London’s The Iron Heel.”
Stacy Huskins (Environmental Science) was awarded “Best Presentation” for “The Vascular Flora of the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area.”
Candy Anderson’s (Health and Human Performance) “Development of a Survey Instrument for Assessment of Clinical Practice Patterns” was honored for “Best Poster.”
