The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is proud to participate in National College Colors Day 2008 to be held Friday, August 29, 2008.
College Colors Day, which coincides with both “back to campus” and the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics, strives to promote higher education through increased public awareness and celebrates the achievements of colleges and universities, acknowledging their critical and fundamental importance to the United States.
Governor Phil Bredesen has officially proclaimed Aug. 29, 2008, as College Colors Day in Tennessee. He noted that dozens of Tennessee colleges and universities provide educational opportunities to thousands of students each year. In addition, intercollegiate athletics in Tennessee provide scholarship opportunities to many young people. College Colors Day acknowledges the critical and fundamental importance of higher education to the state of Tennessee.
On Friday, August 29, visit the UTC Bookstore and with any $50 Mocs purchase, receive an exclusive College Colors Day Chattanooga T-shirt (while supplies last).
