The University is a major sponsor of Culture Fest 2008, a day-long celebration of the many cultures represented in Chattanooga. This event will be held Saturday, September 27, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in Coolidge Park. There is no admission charge.
This year’s festival features international and multicultural music, dance performances, food, arts and crafts, and information booths. There will also be an international storytelling pavilion, a “Hands on the World” demonstration and teaching tent where participants can learn yoga, tai chi, and some international dance moves and an arts and crafts booth for children. A UTC tent will feature the international and multicultural offerings at the University. University academic programs and student services represented at Culture Fest include UTC’s International Programs, Women’s Center, Office for Students with Disabilities, Foreign Languages & Literatures Department, Multicultural Affairs, University Honors Program, and International Students Office. UTC student groups to be represented include UTC’s Student Cultural Ambassadors, Habitat for Humanity, Invisible Children, Black Student Association, International Student Organization, and Baha’i Club.
