In a tiny snapshot of collegiate opinion, students participated in a mock election at the Johnson Obear Apartments and decided, by one vote, that John McCain should be president. This mock election was held recently in the courtyard of Johnson Obear apartments, with 61 students participating. The results were announced at a mock election party.
According to Ryan Ladner, Resident Director of Housing, Johnson Obear Apartments, students have had several campus opportunities to register or apply for an absentee ballot. Residence housing held a campus-wide voter registration on September 30.
“Throughout our lives, we hear a lot about politics,” Ladner said. “People often say we are missing the 18-25 year old voters. It is important for students to get excited about this election—there are so many issues.”
