UTC Interior Design student, Rachael Ferrill has received the Senior Student Scholarship 2008 Award from the Angelo Donghia Foundation, Inc., established by the late Angelo Donghia, an internationally recognized interior designer and source of inspiration to the design world. Ferrill’s scholarship of $12,411 was awarded on the basis of a juried competition of portfolio submissions.
“Angelo Donghia Foundation scholarships are considered an immense honor in interior design education,” said Dana Moody, MS, ASID, IDEC, CKD, Acting Head and Associate Professor of the UTC Department Interior Design. “Interior Design programs across the nation nominate students at the top of their class. Therefore, the competition is tough.”
Over the past six years the Foundation has awarded over $1,750,000 in scholarships to students entering their final year in a Baccalaureate Degree Program. Each award fully covered the student’s senior year tuition, board, maintenance, books and other requisite student materials.
“We are pleased that Rachael was a recipient of one of these most prestigious national scholarships. She is an exceptional student and we know she will not only be successful as an interior designer, but she will also make a positive contribution to the profession of interior design.”
