Open Source Camp Chattanooga will bring beginners and experienced technology professionals together Nov. 13-14 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for two days of hands-on learning, practical sessions and community connection.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET each day at the UTC Library, 600 Douglas St.
The event explores open-source software and tools. Content producers, designers, developers, marketers, project managers and anyone interested in building better digital experiences are invited to attend, regardless of technical background.
Friday, Nov. 13, features hands-on workshops focused on open-source web frameworks and platforms, including Drupal, Laravel and WordPress. Attendees can take part in a beginner-friendly workshop to create a website from scratch, with no prior experience required.
Saturday, Nov. 14, offers a full day of seminars across multiple tracks, including “Open Source for Everyone,” a non-technical track built around practical concepts, demonstrations and explainers. Sessions will cover accessibility, artificial intelligence, analytics, content strategy, digital marketing, project management, SEO, user experience, design and more.
Attendees will also receive lunch, event swag and opportunities to connect with others interested in open-source technology.
“Open Source Camp Chattanooga is a fun, accessible way to take your tech skills to the next level, no matter where you are starting,” said Chris Gilligan, senior web platform developer in the UTC Division of Communications and Marketing.
Registration is now open through Eventbrite. Open-source practitioners interested in presenting can submit session proposals.
