In its fourth annual ranking of undergraduate business programs, BusinessWeek magazine has again named the UTC undergraduate business program among the top 100 in the nation. It is the second time the program has been included in the list.
“The UTC College of Business is very proud to once again be ranked by BusinessWeek as a top 100 undergraduate business program in the country,” said Dr. Richard Casavant, Dean of the College of Business. “As a part of the ranking our faculty was recognized with a top rating as instructors who provide the best of education to our students and prepare the best of talent to the region. The ranking validates the fact that we are in fact a College of distinction and a place of choice for our students.”
The rankings were based on a survey of graduating seniors and a poll of recruiters who were asked to assess the program based on quality of the graduates, curricula and career services, and other measures. Many UTC College of Business graduates spoke highly of the program.
“The professors really care about the students. They strive to not only make sure you understand what you’re being taught, but also to make themselves available to talk about your future with you one-on-one. Faculty are very willing to give advice. Job opportunities and internships are emailed to us very frequently. Workshops are publicized for resume building and interview practicing. It is easy to get involved if you wish to in the college of business at UTC if you make the effort. There a lot of groups and honor societies that are active,” said one COB grad.
