UTC Department of Physical Therapy Assistant Professor Max Jordon is an expert in treating lower back pain. Along with his teaching duties, spends four hours a week in the Pro Bono Physical Therapy clinic offered by University Health Services.
Cleaning, painting, helping: UTC students take part in United Way’s Day of Caring
UTC students volunteered to participate in the United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s Day of Caring on Sept. 22, going to Brown Middle School, Hixson Middle School and the Chattanooga Zoo and—among other jobs—painted, cleaned up brush and dirt, chunked building scrap into dumpsters, sprayed weeds in school vegetable gardens and brushed spiderwebs off ceilings.
Less painful, less scary: UTC researchers looking for better way to screen for cancer
A team led by UC Foundation Professor Steven Symes in the Department of Chemistry and Physics and UC Foundation Professor Sean Richards in the Department of Biology, Geology and Environmental Science is testing whether blood samples can be used to screen for endometrial cancer.
IGTLab at UTC is part of $6 million project to improve Chattanooga’s urban forests

Renowned Welsh singer to mesh song and poetry in visit to UTC
Jeremy Huw Williams, a Welsh baritone opera singer who also is known for his work in contemporary classical music, will perform at the Cadek Recital Hall on the UTC campus on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
Students earn first place awards in statewide journalism competition
Seniors Allie English and Eli Rushing recently won 2023 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters. English was recognized for her short documentary, “Raising Wolves,” and Rushing was honored for his audio version of “Heather’s Story.”
