At “Down with the Dean,” students got the rare chance to watch a Dean get wet in a dunk tank. Students gathered around for free food and free t-shirts, then lined up for a chance to take their shots at Dr. Robert Dooley, the Dean of the College of Business.

Nobel laureate Dr. Robert E. Lucas, Jr. will discuss “The Logic of Entitlement Reform” in the Burkett Miller Distinguished Lecture Series on Monday, October 7, at noon in the UTC University Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scholarship program established in College of Business
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business announces a donation of $50,000 from the SunTrust Foundation to establish an endowed scholarship program in support of undergraduate female students who major in finance.
Veterans Entrepreneurship Program changes lives
After Beau Sidell spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, she became a dental hygienist, and followed up with two years of pre-med classes. She became interested in alternative medicine, and it has inspired her to begin her own business—a non-profit organization called Wild Mane Ranch, where veterans will help veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to learn eco-friendly, sustainable skills and alternative therapies.

Bliss Welch grew up playing soccer and climbing trees, but when she had difficulty climbing the stairs of her family home at 17-years-old, she knew her life was about to change. Her diagnosis of muscular dystrophy didn’t stop her.
