At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, business students are gaining hands-on experience while helping faculty move their research into the marketplace. The UTC Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship launched these roles to give students practical experience while bolstering UTC faculty research and commercialization efforts.

Express yourself: UTC celebrates Autism Acceptance Month
On Wednesday, April 17, the Mosaic Program will host the Autistic Voices Panel, a student-led panel discussing autism spectrum disorder strengths and challenges faced in academia and career. The discussion will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the University Center Tennessee Room.
Eclipsing expectations: Mocs flock to Chamberlain Field to view partial eclipse
On Monday, April 8, Chattanooga—and most locations across the U.S.—experienced a partial solar eclipse. A slew of UTC personnel, donning proper headgear, converged on Chamberlain Field for the occasion. The annual Fly! Mocs Business Competition for University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students, a spring pitch competition “where a good idea and a strong pitch can earn you some cash and startup resources to move your business forward,” took place on Thursday, April 4, before a standing-room-only audience at the UTC Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

For the eighth consecutive year, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga SMILE Fund team was victorious in the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Greater Tennessee Research Challenge. And not surprisingly, the success has continued.
