UTC, Hamilton County Schools collaborate to create University High
A college pipeline for high school students who might not have considered a four-year university education is the goal of a new partnership between Hamilton County Schools and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Debuting in fall 2023, University High is a HCS initiative headquartered on the UTC campus serving students and their families at no cost to them.
UTC chancellor joins EPB announcement of quantum network
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Chancellor Steven R. Angle joined EPB and key partners in Washington, D.C., for the announcement of the nation’s first industry-led, commercially available quantum network, which will be based in Chattanooga and include a node on the UTC campus.

Grain changer: UTC to host discussion on how wheat shifted world power
The premise that American wheat changed the balance of world power is the subject of a panel discussion being hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of History on Friday, Oct. 21. The event, titled “What’s Grain Got To Do With It?” will begin at 7 p.m. in the Guerry Center Reading Room.
High speed progress: UTC hails EPB’s 25 gig internet upgrade
In August, EPB announced it is taking its fiber-optic network from the 10-gig capacity it established in 2015 up to 25 gigs. The goal is expansion across the EPB coverage area with good results all over the city, and what’s good for Chattanooga is expected to be very good for UTC and its urban-environment campus.
Progress update held for UTC Divine Nine Heritage Park
As part of Homecoming Week 2022 festivities, a UTC Divine Nine Heritage Park progress reveal was held on Friday, Sept. 16. The update was held at the on-campus intersection of Vine Street and Terrell Owens Way—the spot of the future park.
