As UTC’s student body grows, so do the number of graduates. That’s why beginning this semester, the University will hold two commencement ceremonies, dividing graduates based upon their colleges. Both ceremonies will be held Saturday, December 14, in the UTC McKenzie Arena.
UTC launches series of learning lunches
It’s a common misconception that dyslexia is just reading words incorrectly, but according to Dr. James Herman of MTSU, the learning disability has deeper neurological roots. Herman was on campus to speak at a new series focused on community education, sponsored by the UTC McKee Chair of Excellence.
Chattanooga mayor visits campus, talks tech and the future of Chattanooga
When Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke was invited by the UTC chapter of Sigma Xi to discuss technology and the future of Chattanooga, he was inspired by the scientific research society’s motto.
UTC launches cable network and increases Internet coverage
Students and faculty across campus are enjoying improved Internet speeds and a host of other improvements this year. With the help of the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 241st Engineering Installation Squadron, the UTC Single Mode Fiber Optics Network was expanded and recently installed.
UTC voted “Best of the Best”
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was voted the Best Local University in the 2013 Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of the Best, Chattanooga’s Official People’s Choice Awards. This accolade joins several honors bestowed upon the campus recently.
Fall membership drive success for WUTC
Chattanooga’s source for National Public Radio is grateful to its listeners. WUTC-FM-88.1 completed its fall membership drive on Friday, October 11, with more than 125,000 pledged.

Blue + Gold= Green at UTC football games
In coordination with Waste Connections of Tennessee, Inc., UTC has implemented a recycling program to be featured at all Mocs Football home games throughout the 2013 season.
University club sports on the rise
With more than 20 active teams and 450 members, the club sports programs on campus have been able to provide a great athletic and social outlet over the years for a large portion of the student body.
