The intersection of Douglas Street and Oak Street will be temporarily closed beginning the week of March 10-14 as part of the Fletcher Hall expansion project.

The safety of the University community is always our top priority. While we are not experiencing any major impacts at this time, out of an abundance of caution the University will further modify campus operations during this weather event.
Campus in focus: A student’s wintry take on UTC
Senior Noah Camacho, a communication major from Clarksville, Tennessee, has taken thousands of photos during his time as a UTC student. One subject that was new to him, though, was covering a snowstorm. Camacho, who will be graduating from UTC in May, took full advantage of the Jan. 10 school closure to capture snow scenes through his camera lens.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was blanketed by snow on Friday, Jan. 10. Undeterred by the chilly weather, University photographer Angela Foster, video team members Mike Andrews and Sam Blevins, Scrappy and a group of enthusiastic UTC students made their way to snow-covered Chamberlain Field.
UTC announces closures for Friday and Saturday (Jan. 10-11)
The UTC campus remains under a Winter Storm Warning until Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 7:00 AM EST. Snow, sleet, and rain are expected to continue throughout the afternoon and evening. Some precipitation is possible overnight.

UTC evening classes/campus activities cancelled (Tuesday, April 2)
Based on information from the National Weather Service, UTC has cancelled evening classes and campus activities for Tuesday, April 2.
Heroes of UTC snow days: “When the call went out for help, people responded”
On Monday, Jan. 15, a rare, thin blanket of snow fell on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus. While UTC only got a light dusting, some areas in the Chattanooga region received up to six inches of snow, leaving campus closed until Thursday, Jan. 18. “People had to be doing physical things in 10-degree weather, five-degree weather, which is crazy,” UTC Director of Safety and Risk Management Bob Jackson said, “but when the call went out for help, people responded.”
UTC on normal operating schedule Friday (Jan. 19)
UTC will be open on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with a normal operating schedule.
