Lots of friendly folks who attended Riverbend 2014 played a game of Corn Hole and walked away with goodies after visiting the UTC table. Lower temperatures and low humidity made the festival an enjoyable time to visit with alumni and friends of the University.
Concert raises funds for UTC Veterans Entrepreneurship Program
Nashville-based band Here Come the Mummies brought their own special brand of funk to historic Engel Stadium for the second annual American Dream Concert. The event raised more than $6,000 for the Engel Foundation and the Veterans Entrepreneurship Program (VEP) at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s College of Business.
Vintage “Base Ball” comes to Engel Stadium
Built in 1930, Engel Stadium will play host to something even older than itself – vintage base ball. With vastly different rules, equipment, and terminology (even a different name, as opposed to the modern “baseball”) vintage base ball is equal parts historic reenactment and sporting event.
Tennessee Valley Corridor Summit kicks off on UTC Campus
Chancellor Steve Angle delivered the keynote address at the Tennessee Valley Corridor Summit, one of the Southeast’s longest running science and technology conferences. Chattanooga’s history of manufacturing excellence, entrepreneurial development, and technological advancement drew the summit to Chattanooga.

University hosts Sisters of the Academy Institute
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Office of Equity and Diversity partnered with Sisters of the Academy Institute (SOTA) to host a writing retreat for UTC faculty. At this retreat, participants had access to coaches and facilitators who provide advice and feedback on dissertations, manuscripts, reports or book chapters.

Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame inducts two
Jim Steffner and the late Harry S. Probasco are the 2014 inductees into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame at UTC. They join an elite group of individuals who represent the area’s entrepreneurial history and the innovators of today.
Design and Research Project Showcase on April 22
The UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science Second Annual Design and Research Project Showcase will feature assistive technology and senior design projects including the MiniBaja vehicle and the Steel Bridge. The showcase will be held Tuesday, April 22, 4-6 p.m. on the 4th floor of the UTC Engineering, Math, and Computer Science building, corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets. The public is welcome.
Blue and Gold Memorial scheduled for April 14
The Blue and Gold Memorial Service is a tradition on campus which honors and remembers those who have passed away this year. This year’s service is scheduled for April 14 at 6 p.m. in Patten Chapel.
