UTC Theatre Company presents ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’
UTC Theatre Company invites you to experience the exhilaration and anxiety of relationships in the crowd-pleasing musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change on April 8-12 at 7:30 p.m. with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on April 12. The performance will be in UTC’s Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre, in UTC’s Fine Arts Center.
Spring brings music to campus
Do you enjoy hearing string, brass, wind or percussion instruments? Are choruses more your taste? Do you enjoy jazz, classical, or more modern music? The UTC Department of Music will present a wide range of concerts, recitals, and performances, showcasing a number of different styles and instruments. Performances will be free and open to the public, with seating given on a first come first served basis.
Lecture: “Between Race and Nation: Shirley Chisholm and National Politics.”
The Department of History will host the lecture, “Between Race and Nation: Shirley Chisholm and National Politics” by Dr. Anastasia Curwood (Ph.D., Princeton University, 2003) of Emory University. Chisolm was the first African American woman to be elected to the United States Congress.
Women’s History Month Presentations
The Women’s Studies program will be hosting be several presentations this week and next as part of UTC’s observance of Women’s History Month. All events are free and open to the public.
University to host sports injury prevention conference
As youth sports related injuries continue to rise and receive national attention, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will explore and highlight issues related to prevention and management of injuries by hosting a two-day conference.
Special Collections introduces Shakespeare exhibit
In honor of William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, the UTC Special Collections and University Archives will be displaying some of its items related to the playwright.

Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger called UTC “a vital part of Hamilton County for more than 125 years” and he thanked Chancellor Steve Angle for his leadership.

The first annual “Moc Madness” spring concert will be held on March 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the McKenzie Arena.
