The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Art, in partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Art, will host the 2024 Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Thesis Exhibition from March 26-April 20. The exhibition will take place in the ICA Galleries in the UTC Fine Arts Center.
UTC College of Arts and Sciences presents 3rd annual Spotlight on Faculty Excellence
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Arts and Sciences and the CAS Access and Inclusive Excellence Committee will host the annual CAS Spotlight on Faculty Excellence at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, in the University Center Auditorium. This year’s honoree is Dr. Jose M. Barbosa, a professor in the Department of Biology, Geology and Environmental Science.

UTC to host spring Meacham Writers’ Workshop March 21-23
Writer, actor, comedian and award-winning Los Angeles-based art critic Christina Catherine Martinez and four writers whose passion for creative writing blossomed during their UTC undergraduate days will be featured at the upcoming 2024 Spring Meacham Writers’ Workshop. The workshop will take place March 21-23 at various UTC campus locations, ArtsBuild (301 E. 11th St. in Chattanooga) and Stove Works (1250 E. 13th St. in Chattanooga).
UTC to celebrate Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, and the UTC Center for Women and Gender Equity will honor and celebrate women’s contributions to history. “This is just a great time to talk and highlight the historical context of what does it mean to be where we are today as women and how did we get here?” said Lauren Ouwerkerk, associate director of WaGE and the Prism Center.
Happy Anniversary: MCC, WaGE celebrate 15 years of providing UTC students a ‘sense of belonging’
For 15 years, the Multicultural Center and the Center for Women and Gender Equity have provided safe spaces for students at UTC. The organizations will jointly celebrate their 15th anniversaries with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, at Lupton Hall.

Signature cuisine from five Chattanooga-area vendors was on display at the third annual “Taste of Black Chattanooga,” which took place on Thursday, Feb. 22, in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s University Center Tennessee Room.
VW Drive Your Career Day shows UTC students ‘what a career at Volkswagen means’
On Thursday, Feb. 22, UTC hosted its first VW Drive Your Career Day, an event for students who registered to explore internship and career opportunities while networking with VW personnel. VW staff members talked with students about positions in numerous disciplines, including innovation, finance, engineering, computer science, business and human resources. In addition, an ID.4 and the new VW bus were parked next to the silver Power C adjacent to the University Center.
