Student park dedicated
A fountain is bubbling and new tables and chairs invite visitors to hang out at the Student Government Association Student Park, newly dedicated in honor of Dr. Roger Brown, chancellor emeritus, and his late wife, Dr. Carolyn Thompson.

2014-15 FYRE book selected
The Postmortal by Drew Magary has been chosen by the First Year Reading Experience (FYRE) committee as the FYRE book for 2014-2015. FYRE introduces students to the academic and intellectual culture of university life. It nurtures the belief that reading is an integral part of the university experience.
End of the spring 2014 semester wrap-up
Spring semester is nearly a wrap! The last day of classes is Monday, April 21, and Reading Day is Tuesday, April 22.
UTC supports ‘Clean and Green’
A group of energetic UTC students rolled up their sleeves and helped beautify the city of Chattanooga recently. UTC Student Government Association (SGA) representatives and a group of Health and Human Performance majors worked as part of the city’s annual Clean and Green program.
Student receives Honorable Mention for the Goldwater Scholarship
Adrianna Eder has received an Honorable Mention for the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, the premier undergraduate scholarship for students conducting research in the sciences.
UTC-IEEE Robotic Team achieves top four finish in competition
Students on the UTC-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Robotics Team achieved prestigious recognition for their performance at the 2014 IEEE SouthEastCon Hardware Competition held in Lexington, Kentucky. It is the second time UTC has sent a team to the competition, which required participants to design a robot that shoots a projectile from various distances to emulate the playing and shooting dynamics of basketball.
Spring brings music to campus
Do you enjoy hearing string, brass, wind or percussion instruments? Are choruses more your taste? Do you enjoy jazz, classical, or more modern music? The UTC Department of Music will present a wide range of concerts, recitals, and performances, showcasing a number of different styles and instruments. Performances will be free and open to the public, with seating given on a first come first served basis.
Mathematics Department hosts middle and high school poster competition
More than seventy-five middle and high school students visited UTC on March 27 for the Mathematics Department’s seventh annual Mathematics Poster Competition.
