UTC Hosts “Blow-by-Blow: PT Concussion Management” 2015 Physical Therapy Forum

Concussion is the most common type of traumatic brain injury, and while they are often caused by a blow to the head, they can also occur when the head and upper body are violently shaken. Concussion as a result of contact sports has been a hot issue in the media, but concussions can also be caused by car and bicycle accidents, work-related injuries, falls, fighting, and other indirect head trauma. These were just a few of the topics discussed at the 2015 Physical Therapy Forum “Blow-by-Blow: PT Concussion Management” in the UTC University Center.

UTC alumna becomes 2015 president of world’s largest scientific society

Dr. Diane Grob Schmidt ’67, a retired chemist from Procter & Gamble, is leading the American Chemical Society (ACS) as president in 2015. Schmidt, a UTC chemistry graduate, was named the 1995 UTC Distinguished Alumni Award winner.

Artist and educator Joshua Bienko selected 54 works from 151 entries for inclusion in the exhibition, which includes a wide range of media and materials: from charcoal on paper and oil on canvas to mixed media installations and sculpture, digital collage and websites, artist’s books, zines, photographs, and six moving image works.
