The Department of Music will host the 2014 Trumpet Festival of the Southeast at the UTC Fine Arts Center, January 17-19. Admission to performances by guest artists and a jam session is free and open to the public.

Student composer hits successful note
Ethan McGrath listened to the choirs of St. Paul’s, Good Shepherd, and St. Timothy’s Episcopal churches in Chattanooga at their Choral Evensong event last May, not as an observer, but as the composer of the premiere of a liturgical work the three churches commissioned him to write.

Concert to celebrate Roland Carter’s retirement on April 19
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Music Department in conjunction with UTC’s Chancellor’s Office and Development office will present a Gala Concert celebrating Roland Carter’s career and honoring his retirement on Friday, April 19th, at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church at 401 Gateway Avenue in Chattanooga.

The UTC Music Department presents the faculty recital “Songs and Dances,” which will feature Doctors Jonathan McNair, Mario Abril, and Kenyon Wilson on Sunday, October 7, at 4 p.m. in the UTC Fine Arts Center, Roland Hayes Concert Hall, 752 Vine Street. This event is free and open to the public.
