This week, UTC accepted an invitation to join the Southeastern Quantum Collaborative (SQC), created by the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Founding members of the SQC include IBM, Davidson Technologies and Alabama A&M University. Additional organizations—including UTC, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, IonQ and Leidos—have committed to join as inaugural members.
UTC students helping shape decisions inside EPB’s Strategic Research Group
Three University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students are helping Chattanooga’s public utility tackle big questions at the intersection of energy, housing and technology—and the city’s future. Through a research fellowship with EPB, they’re gaining firsthand experience connecting academic research to real community challenges.
UTC to host Quantum Technology Workshop June 23-25
The Quantum Technology Workshop, hosted June 23-25 at UTC’s Multi-Disciplinary Research Building (701 E. M.L. King Blvd.), is presented by the Quantum Center at the UTC Research Institute (UTCRI). Workshop sessions will explore a wide range of quantum topics, including algorithm development, hardware challenges, simulation techniques and near-term applications in industry.
