Ryan Jones named new Associate Vice Chancellor of UTC Advancement
Ryan Jones has been named Associate Vice Chancellor of Advancement at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, effective May 1, 2025. In this role, Jones will organize and coordinate fundraising efforts across the UTC campus and lead the team of fundraising professionals across the university’s academic, athletics and student support service areas.

Education Day brings school-day excitement to McKenzie Arena—and a Mocs win
The Athletics Department held its annual Education Day at the women’s basketball game against Lipscomb on Monday, Nov. 25, welcoming more than 2,000 elementary and middle school students for the mid-day contest. Education Day has become an annual tradition at UTC, with one game close to Thanksgiving or holiday break moving to an early tipoff to allow local students to come to campus and experience the atmosphere.

Chancellor Steven R. Angle has appointed Dr. JAy Blackman as the University’s vice chancellor of communications and marketing, effective Oct. 1, 2024. Blackman, who has served as the University’s deputy athletics director for internal operations since April 2021, brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the UTC community to his new role—having worked for the institution since 2008.
