Students and faculty from the Department of Chemistry participated in the SouthEastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) held recently in Nashville. Faculty members who attended included: Dr. Rob Mebane, Dr. John Lynch, Dr. Gretchen Potts, Dr. Steve Symes, Dr. Jisook Kim, Dr. Greg Grant, Dr. Kyle Knight, and Dr. Tom Rybolt.
Siskin Children’s Institute awards UTC students scholarships
The annual Siskin Circle of Scholars program has awarded undergraduate scholarships to UTC students Rachel M. Boyd and Sarah Rankin for their strong academic record and career aspirations to work with children with disabilities. Linda Rivers, a doctoral student, was awarded a Graduate Research Award.
Grant awarded for Mini Baja competition
UTC engineering students preparing for the 2009 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Mini Baja Series® received a $7000 grant from DENSO North America Corporation. Dr. Rob Goulet, who has served as faculty advisor for the UTC Mini Baja participants, received the grant approval from DENSO.
