On Friday, Nov. 21, Chancellor Lori Bruce was formally installed as the 19th leader in the University’s 139-year history. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, state and community leaders, and members of the UT System, each playing a part in a day that will be remembered at UTC for years to come.
Capstone achievement: UTC’s Emma Sprayberry lands Fulbright Scholarship
One of the most highly decorated students in recent UTC history has received another prestigious award before her time as an undergraduate comes to a close. Senior Emma Sprayberry, an Innovations in Honors student in the UTC Honors College majoring in both humanities: international studies (with an emphasis on Asian studies) and Spanish, along with a minor in anthropology, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Taiwan for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Father’s day: Commencement gives dad chance to ‘embarrass’ daughter
As president of the UTC Alumni Board of Directors, Jay Dale is tasked with introducing new graduates to the responsibilities of being alums of the institution. Midway through his remarks to the graduates of the Gary W. Rollins College of Business and the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies, he took a slight detour.
