Students from five University of Tennessee at Chattanooga classes filled the UTC Library’s Roth Reading Room on a recent Thursday evening for a collaborative zine fest, an event showcasing projects from courses taught by UC Foundation Professor and Associate Department Head of English Sybil Baker, Assistant Professor of Sociology Natalie Blanton, Associate Professor of History Susan Eckelmann and Assistant Professor of Anthropology Emma McDonell.
UTC academic librarian co-authors first comprehensive guide on creative technology spaces
Emily Thompson’s decade of experience at UTC—combined with the collective expertise of colleagues across the country—has culminated in the publication of “A Complete Guide to Creative Technology Spaces in Academic Libraries: Media Labs, Makerspaces, and More.” The book, published by ALA Editions in collaboration with Core Publishing, provides practical guidance for libraries looking to establish or expand their creative technology spaces.
Inspiring innovation: UTC’s signature research conference brings campus and community together
The Spring Research and Arts Conference returns on Wednesday, April 9, continuing its tradition of showcasing student and faculty research, innovation and creativity. Presented by the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Office for Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor, the conference highlights the breadth and depth of research happening at UTC—featuring more than 650 presenters and 320 unique research projects throughout the day.
