James “Bucky” Wolford ’69, a UTC Distinguished Alumnus Award winner and former chair of the University of Chattanooga Foundation, was remembered Wednesday with a proclamation by the Tennessee General Assembly.
Tennessee State Senator Bo Watson ’84 presented the proclamation to members of the Wolford family at the beginning of a meeting of the UC Foundation board.
“Bucky loved this University, and I know that he is up there smiling down on us today,” said Diane Wolford ’69.
The proclamation reads in part: “Whereas, an accomplished member of his profession and a respected leader in his community, Mr. Wolford is a Tennessean of whom we can all be proud, and it is highly appropriate that the members of this legislative body should recognize his laudable service to this State.”
Wolford died on September 1, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Read more about Wolford.
