High school students and families in the Chattanooga area are invited to learn what it means to be a Moc when the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Power C Tour returns to the UTC campus on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Taking place from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Aquatic Recreation Center (601 Mocs Alumni Drive), the Power C Tour offers future college students the opportunity to connect with UTC leaders, faculty, staff and current students. Guests will learn about academic programs, financial aid, housing and campus life—and qualified seniors can even earn admission to UTC on the spot through the University’s “Moc Minute” program.
The Power C Tour is part of a trio of fall events designed for high school students and their families taking place at UTC from Nov. 12-15.
- On Friday, Nov. 14, high school juniors and seniors interested in careers in health care, engineering, computer science or technology are invited to College Quest. The half-day event combines targeted academic sessions, lab experiences and a student panel with a parent track that covers financial aid, housing, career services and academic support. To learn more, visit utc.edu/college-quest.
- Blue and Gold Preview Day, UTC’s comprehensive open house, takes place Saturday, Nov. 15. Blue and Gold provides prospective students with a broad introduction to campus life, admissions, housing and scholarships. To learn more, visit utc.edu/blue-and-gold.
At the Power C event, guests can enjoy light refreshments, participate in scholarship drawings, connect with representatives from the academic colleges and hear directly from UTC Chancellor Lori Bruce. Guests are encouraged to wear blue and gold to boost their chances of winning additional prizes.
“UTC is a place of opportunity, academic excellence and community impact, and we prepare hardworking, capable graduates who thrive in business, education, engineering, health care and many other industries,” Bruce said. “I know the power education has to change lives, and I want students to see how UTC can open those same doors for them through opportunities that set them apart.”
UTC recently announced a record enrollment figure for fall 2025, reporting an official enrollment of 12,060 students.
“When students look at UTC, I want them to see a community where they’ll be challenged, encouraged and supported every step of the way,” Bruce said. “Just as important, we’re committed to keeping UTC affordable and accessible so their dreams aren’t limited by financial barriers.”
High school seniors also have the chance to be “Admitted in a Moc Minute.” Qualified students can receive on-the-spot admission to UTC with no application fee by meeting stated requirements: a 2.85 GPA with an 18 ACT or a 2.5 GPA with a 21 ACT. To participate, students must:
- Complete and submit an online application at utc.edu/apply at least 48 hours before the event.
- Ask their school counselor to print their transcript in a sealed envelope to bring to the event or email it to [email protected].
- Provide a printed or photocopied ACT or SAT score (scores listed on transcripts are also accepted).
Prospective students and their families can register for the Power C Tour event at utc.edu/power-c-tour.
Through its four academic colleges, Honors College and Graduate School, UTC offers 49 bachelor’s degrees with 116 program concentrations; eight undergraduate certificate programs; 30 graduate certificate programs; 23 master’s degree programs with 49 program concentrations; an education specialist program with three program concentrations; and six doctoral degrees with 10 program concentrations.
