The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Power C Tour, a statewide outreach effort to prospective students on academic programs, admissions, housing, financial aid and campus life at UTC, visited the Knoxville Convention Center on Monday, Oct. 30.
The Power C Tour gives high school students, transfers, graduate students and their families a feel for UTC. Representatives from the academic colleges, student services and the UTC Executive Leadership Team—plus current students and mascot Scrappy—travel to each site to answer questions and make connections in a friendly, relaxed environment.
The Power C Tour features presentations, information booths, light refreshments and prizes, including an opportunity to win UTC scholarships.
In addition, prospective students can receive an admissions decision at the event. Qualified high seniors who meet admissions requirements (2.85 GPA with an 18 ACT or a 2.5 GPA with a 21 ACT, top 10% of high school graduating class or 4.0 cumulative GPA) can get free admission to UTC that night in a “Moc Minute.” To participate in Moc Minute, students must submit an online application at www.utc.edu/apply at least 48 hours in advance; students should ask their school counselor to print their transcript and put it in a sealed envelope to bring to the event—or email it to transcripts@utc.edu.
Following October stops in Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville, the tour concludes with an event for Chattanooga-area students from 6-7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the University Center Tennessee Room. For more information, visit utc.edu/roadtrip.
