Operation Move In brought the newest flock of Mocs to UTC. All this week at the residential housing units on campus, cars, pickups, SUVs and minivans pull in, often stuffed to the brim and unloaded by students, parents, siblings and other relatives.
‘LEAR’ning the ropes: UTC students collaborate with professional theater company

The summer semester has officially begun, which means that University of Tennessee at Chattanooga faculty, staff and students are gearing up for the arrival of new students on campus in August. Freshman orientation begins on June 5 and continues until August. The two-day orientation sessions will provide incoming students with information and resources to begin their college journey.

Blue and Gold Preview Day highlights the “small things that make us great”
UTC held its annual spring Blue and Gold Preview Day on April 1 to show prospective students and their families the uniqueness of the University. With around 465 students in attendance for the event—plus parents and other family members—2023’s spring preview day was the largest the campus has ever had.

Home away from home: New residential learning communities create ‘a sense of belonging’
The College of Arts and Sciences launched five new residential learning communities (RLCs) in fall 2022. These are living/learning communities made up of students with similar interests or areas of study. The goal is to speed up the process of forging a community while away at college.

Curtain call: First stage role has ‘Romeo and Juliet’ actor feeling honored
Bronwyn McEwen, playing The Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet,” enrolled at UTC in spring semester 2022—32 years after she left college and at the age of 58—to finish her degree as a theater major.
