To say that injection molding is common in the world of manufacturing is underselling it. Injection molding is everywhere in manufacturing. Research now taking place at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is intended to reduce cost by 90% and reduce the time to finish the molds to about two weeks, enhancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.
Dr. Bernice King and Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz to headline UTC MLK Day 2024
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will celebrate its 11th UTC MLK Day by bringing a pair of co-headliners to Chattanooga. Dr. Bernice A. King and Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz will be the keynote speakers for the UTC MLK Day 2024 celebration taking place at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium Walker Theatre.
UTC’s Institute of Contemporary Art to host artist Becky Suss and Pulitzer Prize finalist Ann Patchett
An award-winning novel is the inspiration for an art exhibition that the Institute of Contemporary Art, housed in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Fine Arts Center, is bringing to campus. A solo exhibition of new paintings by Becky Suss, inspired by Pulitzer Prize-finalist Ann Patchett’s 2019 novel “The Dutch House,” will be held from Jan. 16 to March 16 at ICA Chattanooga, accessed through the lobby of the Fine Arts Center.
Musicians, speakers to come together for “O King”
On Thursday, Jan. 25, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Music, the Ruth Holmberg Professor of American Music, the Vice Chancellor for Access and Engagement and the Office of Multicultural Affairs will partner with the Bessie Smith Cultural Center to present “O King.” The free concert, open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bessie Smith Cultural Center performance hall (200 E. M.L. King Blvd.). The venue is accessible.

UTC graduates first cybersecurity cohort
The initial cohort of students in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology in Cybersecurity (BAS-IT CyS) degree program crossed the McKenzie Arena stage during commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 16.
