During “I Love UTC Week” from April 1-5, campus icon Scrappy flew by Special Collections and the display cases in the UTC Library’s Roth Grand Reading Room that Special Collections curates. The current exhibition, titled “‘Crowd-Energizing Mission’: A UTC Mascot Retrospective,” includes details and trivia sure to interest any Moc, and Scrappy was no exception. UTC Vice Chancellor for Access and Engagement Stacy Lightfoot was among the prominent leaders in the arts, business, education, entertainment, government, corporate America and community honored at the Eighth Annual Diamond Awards, held on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Morehouse College Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel in Atlanta. Lightfoot was recognized in the category of Education: Excellence in Leadership, Philanthropy, Humanitarian and Community Engagement.

UTC graduating senior Mackenzie Smith aims to become the seventh physician in her immediate family, but medical school will have to wait until after her soccer career ends. Smith has her eye on playing professional soccer overseas. Then, the two-time all-Southern Conference player and biochemistry major plans to join her five siblings and father and attend medical school.
Graduating senior Emmy Davis shares how she balances life as athlete and finance major
Being a well-balanced student is not an easy feat, and as a student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA, Emmy Davis knows this all too well. Her hard work as an undergraduate student is coming to an end on Saturday, Dec. 16, when the cross country and track and field runner graduates summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in finance.

UTC raises more than $1.7 million for Fourth Annual Day of Giving
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga raised $1,734,947.42 from 2,131 donors during its fourth annual Mocs Give Day on Oct. 3. The day’s original fundraising goals to raise $1,000,000 from 1,500 donors were exceeded by nearly 73% and 42%, respectively.
