Parking and road closure information for Operation Move In
Operation Move In at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga kicks off Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13-14, welcoming new students to campus and marking the official start of Fall Opening. To support the smooth flow of traffic and ensure a safe and welcoming experience for students and families, several road closures and parking restrictions will be in place during Operation Move In.
Officer by day, jammer by night
UTC police officer Ellen Centers has an alter ego. When she’s off duty, Centers becomes “Adrenellen,” a jammer for Chattanooga Roller Derby. Several nights a week, Centers can be found rollerblading around the Orange Grove Center gym during practices.

Early bird registration opens for “Chattanooga Connect 2025”
Chattanooga Connect 2025, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Research Institute (UTCRI), will take place Oct. 6-8 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Following its successful debut last year, Chattanooga Connect will again convene industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to explore the future of urban transportation and cutting-edge advancements in quantum computing, digital infrastructure, AI, connected and automated vehicles (CAV), and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies.
UTC breaks ground on Oak Street Residence Hall
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga officially broke ground on a new on-campus housing project on Monday, July 21, that will expand student living options and serve as a hub for student life when completed in 2027.
