A new Master of Science in Management online degree program at UTC begins with the spring 2024 semester. The addition of the program, housed within the Gary W. Rollins College of Business, was made official on Aug. 17 after its confirmation from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

Dr. Yancy Freeman, UTC vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs, will be recommended by UT System President Randy Boyd to the UT Board of Trustees as the next chancellor of UT Martin.
Dr. Bryan Johnson to join UTC leadership team
Dr. Bryan Johnson, a former corporate executive and successful K-12 leader, has been appointed executive vice chancellor and chief strategy officer at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He will begin his new role on July 24.

University announces launch of the UTC Research Institute
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is establishing the UTC Research Institute as a strategic initiative launched to pursue increased research funding, interdisciplinary collaboration across campus, and support for community and local industry priorities. The Research Institute will be led by Dr. Mina Sartipi, founding director of the UTC Center for Urban Informatics and Progress (CUIP) and Guerry Professor of Computer Science and Engineering.
Celebration: UTC to host five commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday
Spring commencement at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will be celebrated with five separate ceremonies over two days starting Friday, May 5. All ceremonies will take place inside McKenzie Arena. This will be the 261st overall commencement for the University.
