Bliss Murphy’s freshman year, along with the usual load of classes, was filled to the brim. During the academic year, she was a member or involved with 18 different on-campus groups or organizations, including the Center for Women and Gender Equity, the Wildlife and Zoology Club, the Ecological Decisions for a Global Environment (EDGE), Healing Through Harmony music therapy group and Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor (URaCE).
UTC partners with College Pads to create online off campus housing marketplace
A new University of Tennessee at Chattanooga program, Off-Campus Student Services, will help students locate off-campus housing more efficiently and assist with other needs they may experience living off-campus—such as finding potential roommates and price and location comparisons.
Three members of UTC family recognized with 2023 UT System President’s Awards
Three UTC faculty and staff members were announced as 2023 President’s Award recipients—the highest accolade an employee can receive from the UT System. President Randy Boyd announced that Dr. Michelle Rigler, Dr. Abeer Mustafa and Dr. David Rausch are among 14 award winners from across the UT System recognized for their accomplishments and dedication to Be One UT values.

Overcoming adversity: Mechatronics student Fatimah Musa won’t let visual impairment hold her back
UTC mechatronics student Fatimah Musa was born with cone-rod dystrophy—a type of inherited retinal degeneration affecting the retina’s photoreceptor cells. Musa said “visually impaired” is usually the correct term for her case, “but I generalize myself as blind because blind does include the visually impaired.”
